Hi all,
I sympathise with anyone using digest mode, having to cope with the excess
of attatched material. Cathy has treated us to an excellent example of this,
this morning.
I do hope that John continues to add the above to his list. The web page
details are particularly important, and I was one who pleaded that these be
added to his address originally. There were so many people unable to find
their way to the archives for this list and the iris photos list.

Like many, many others on this list, I frequently use the subject tags to
get rid of the excess messages, and to search the archives. Do please keep
using them people.
I am a member of many other lists, and frequently pull myself up short for
using rediculous and irrelevant subject tags, usually as a result of typing
in haste. These other lists are way smaller, so it is easier to read through
quickly. They also do not have the archive resource that we are so fortunate
to have on this list. I personally feel it is well worthwhile making the
extra effort.

As regards John's unfortunate post which was intended to be private, we all
do that occassionally. It's just unfortunate that there is no emergency
retract button on our browsers. If I received a post like that from John, I
would most likely apologise to him. Don't people do that anymore? If we
cause other people anguish and inconvenience, isn't that as much, if not
more, our own faults rather than theirs?

I suggest everyone have a good read of Anners tutorial on the correct use of
subject tags. If you missed that, you will find it in the archives.

Have a nice day - Jan
