Re: SPEC: I cristata "spot" pattern


Thanks Chuck for posting the closeup of I. cristata.  Interesting - the
blue part looks little like the signal pattern on cristata in my woods. 
Here, the darker blue is almost two thumbprints, small, but quite
distinct, unlike the slightly blurry edged ones in the photo, and a bit
larger than the dark blue shown.  I don't have one here at the moment &
they are about done, but I will try to bring one to compare closely with
the photo.  When I was pulling stamens off the flowers, I was struck by
how pretty that dark blue pattern is and that I had never noticed it
before.  Seems like these don't have as large a white area as the
picture either, but I am not sure.
