Bill,
Hate to tell you but deer love hostas even more than rabbits do. If
your neighbor's hosta are being eaten there may be deer nearby. In my
experience here in Connecticut, by the time the hosta are up and eatable
and the iris have budded, the deer are no longer interested in the
azaleas.....
