CULT: Irises for Community Project

Good Morning Talkers,

The communication reproduced below was referred to me in my capacity as
HIPS Commercial Source Chairman. As I am unable to respond to it in that
context, I am posting it to this list in the hope that someone will choose
to assist this worthy project.

"Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to ask for your assistance. Our Boy Scout troop is active in
our community by participating in a service project at least one Saturday
per month. Our current project is at our local Community Center. It was a
gift to the community by a local resident, and a trust fund covers the
operational necessities but not major improvements. One section of our
project will involve landscaping various areas of the property. We are
developing several theme gardens (e.g., Colonial, Victorian, Oriental,
etc.) and continuously blooming flower beds. The planting will be on May
19th but we are planning the designs now.

To complete our project we need your help. Although our local nurseries are
helping us, they do not have a wide variety of "old' or unusual plants.
Would it be possible for you and/or your association members to donate a
variety of types, sizes, and colors of irises to us?

Thank you in advance for your time and any assistance you can offer. If you
need additional information, please contact me at my office (301)694-2191
8am-4pm or my home (301)797-3023 after 6pm EDT.

Sincerely,

J. Robert Storer
