Regarding the European spuria iris sources I would suggest 
checking with Dave Niswonger.  He has had a lot of correspondence
and exchanges with European hybridizers.  He also is one of our
best spuria hybridizers.  I have forwarded your e-mail to
Everett Lineberger, the current president of the Spuria Iris Society.
