Enjoy reading about what is blooming in others' yards. Here is my
contribution for today.
Each of the following has two fresh, stunning open blooms:
CHANGE OF PACE, Schreiner's. This is the one called 'an orchid' by
the neighbors who have untrained eyes. Ok by me.
AURA LIGHT, Blyth. Startling color contrast - white standards,
golden yellow falls. A masterpiece in form. Taller than last year,
but still has gladioli branching, yet when you have such a flower,
who cares about the branching? It's made that way! Automatic blue
ribbon.
CRANBERRY CORDIAL, Moores. Hey, one of my '00 introductions you
should have! Dark, dark plic that may be more plum this year than
cranberry on a cream to white ground. Saddle leather substance like
that near the stirrups. Hard to wear out.
Walter Moores
Enid Lake, MS USA 7/8 (Sweating a frost threat. Covering seedling
sprouts and a quarterbred arilmedian from Privileged Character x Pink
Betterment...blah falls but webbing in the standards like Aurora's
Veil).
