Thanks all for the info. I wasn't really thinking of making crosses on
it myself - I'd have to save pollen to put on later bloomers & there's a
good chance the pollen won't be there to start with - JESSE rarely
blooms normally here. & while the stalks look normal, I'll be surprised
if the blooms are totally ok.
But the plant is such a good one here, and the one year that JESSE
wasn't affected by freezes, the clump was pretty spectacular in bloom -
seems like a natural for supervigorous children if crossed with rebloom.
I do have VIOLET MIRACLE and seems like it usually manages to bloom more
or less normally, tho not nearly as rampant as PERFUME COUNTER, which is
almost as everblooming as IMMORTALITY here if I water it now and then
and might actually have some flowers open at the same time. Plus it
sets pods with abandon.
I may back up a generation and try to make a cross with the latter
instead (if Jesse makes pollen).
