I'm sure you're right about that. It must be a combination of all of
those factors and more that determines a specific cv's survivability
in any particular garden.

I think you've mistaken my post for someone else's. I don't tend to
be put off by doomsday reports about cv's I'm eager to try myself.
I'll give anything a shot in my garden, but I don't spend a lot of
time babying my plants. Either they tough it out up here or they
don't. Their choice. ;-)
