I will contact my mother this weekend...I recall that Grandmother had a dark lavendery iris which would have bloomed about adult knee high which smelled like fruit. It may or may not have a name, but if it does she will know. As to Morrow Rock I would have been 7 or 8 so it was prior to 1965. We did not go very far up, it was sort of scary! I will let you know what I find out about the iris.
