hi.
this is the first i've tried this, so I hope it works. I was going to
transplant my isis's today, as the "conditions" in the back have
declined (addition of a 6 month old puppy)and ran into a problem. I
came upon some rhizomes that were spongy and rotting (like root rot)
but some of them had a black fungus stuff on them. It looked
very "brain like", or like a morrel mushroom, all squiggly squished
type and upon exposure to air it got gray and fuzzy but still "held"
it's shape.
I also noticed a lot of bugs(slugs, millipeeds and pill bugs) and
that the dog "goes" there(the main reason they are being moved).
There is, of course, damage from the dog walking on them because I
was to slow to get the other bed ready. I have cleaned all the
contaminated rhizomes out and also the associated rootlets, but my
concern is if this stuff will transport to the new bed which is NOT
accessabile to the dog.
I live in Montana and if some one could please answer this question
or if you need more information to do so, please let me know. I don't
want to lose my flowers.
Thank You
Mel
