You might try TERRACHLOR, which is not easy to find but comes in both
powder and liquid form. The liquid is easier to use. It is nasty stuff,
but I think effective for this kind of rot. First, cut away all fans and
rhizomes or parts of rhizomes that are mushy and (yuk) smelly, then
DRENCH not only the plant but the soil. Directions on the package say
drench soil several inches deep. We are using it for the first time this
season, as we had some rot not previously experienced, so I can't
personally vouch for effectiveness, but I have had a recommendation from a
grower of some greater experience than ours who has had good luck with this
chemical.
