Linda, I'm sure you're probably aware of this website but there may be other
iris talkers who might be interested in the info. It has some fairly good
pics of leaf spot and I value the Penn State info. Hope I can post this link
successfully. Good Luck. One of the best pieces of advice I've experienced
personally was a comment from Walter Moores....Break apart or separate the
rhizomes. If infected some may be lost but some will survive. I've found
that 2 or 3 year old clumps that have not been broken up or separated will
be entirely consumed if infected. But if I have separated even one or two of
the increases and planted nearby, they seem to escape. I can slow it down
with systemics, but haven't been able to eradicate it entirely. I like my
iris in larger clumps in the garden and yard so I'm sure it predisposes them
to certain overcrowding diseases. Mine are not neglected or horribly
overgrown, but neither do I run a test center for sickly iris...survival to
the fittest garden specimen!
