Francelle, your procedure is the same as mine and one used by
many. Cliff Benson wrote it up for the AIS Bulletin and included
many pictures with the article back in the sixties. More recently,
Schreiners described their procedures for the Bulletin. All are
about the same.
Merle Roberts has pictures of growing the seedlings in beds
instead of rowing them out. I am trying that this year but may have
gotten some of the babies too close together last May when they
were unpotted.. Now they are crowded clumps in one year. I will
admit to radically amending the soil in that bed; hence the rampant
growth. I have two more beds tilled up but I have not added any
enrichment.

I used ROMANTIC EVENING quite a bit. In one there is no
germination, and in others it is scattered. But, with VALENTINE'S
DAY, I must have eighty per cent germination. I should have used
a bigger pot, but you never know!
