I'd like to say The Bilker's advice is all 'male bovine excrement' -
because then it would be good for something >;->

Seriously, I've seen most of it in *old* 'recipt books' that definitely
predate Jerry and most are little more than 'witches brews' although one
or two of the formulas may actually work under the right conditions -
tobacco juice 'bug spray' is most definitely toxic, the capsaicins in
hot-sauce are unpalatable to many mammals, a few of the brews contain
micro-nutrients that may or may not be deficient in some soils, and 'the
pill' could theoretically have an effect on plants given the fact that
the Indoles used as rooting hormones were originally isolated from urine
(not to mention steroid precursors in certain Dioscorea (true yams),
estrogen-like substances in Glycine max (soybean), and of course Ephedra
which contains the 'adrenaline'/Ephedrine-like Pseudephedrine)
how-some-ever, since 'the pill' contains varying amounts of progesterone
with or without varying amounts of estrogen (one or more of the
following: estrone, estradiol, estriol) the best that could be said is
that it *might* work to induce bloom
