No Debi, they are two different things.   Dutch iris are bulbous, that is, they grow from a bulb.   Spuria iris are beardless iris that grow from a rhizome that is thinner and more woody looking than bearded iris ones.   Spurias are generally taller than dutch, although
new ones are being developed now that are shorter and with smaller flowers.   They bloom a little later than bearded iris and are planted deeper.   Try some, you will like them.
