Re: Re: HYB: technique - seed germination

A sort of sprout or die routine? I've wondered about doing this.
Sometimes, when I've let a pot soak too long and then see a sprout I've
thought maybe what seemed excess water caused it a day or two later. On the
other hand, it hasn't been consistant enough to really believe that's all it
was. Since I work 8-5, watering that often probably isn't feasible. And my
habits don't really tend to that sort of continued activity for an extended
period.

An inquiring mind wants to hear about the results.

Temps are too warm too early here. Chances of seedlings sprouting in those
pots is not good. What about just storing a few pots in the fridge as
planted and then taking them out in a couple of months and moving them into
the air-conditioned house? (This will meet with disapproval from other
sources, but I'm used to that.) Since there are so many pots, anything I
might decide to try will be limited in number, so most will simply have to
be carried over to fall and next spring with the hope the labels don't get
lost, or the pots dumped etc.
