Re: Re: HYB: technique - seed germination

OK Lazy Bill. . . . Let's not overlook the fact that a lot of use iris
kooks are gals. . when I read your hilarious note, I substituted
"husband" and "he," which in my case, really, REALLY applies. I can just
see me putting "30 or so bags" in frig.. . Jeez. . . talk about someone
throwing a "bitch-kitty fit!" My husband would go right through the
ceiling and then land on me when he came down! I've abandon all hopes of
making a gardener outa him - he doesn't like to get his hands dirty and
the mere idea of getting down on hands and knees evokes a "you want me to
do WHAT? - in the DIRT????"

        >>Get gallon heavy duty freezer bags. Dump dirt and seeds from
pots in bag. Add
enough water to keep em wet. Put your marker in bag or write on bag. Mash
bag
flat so it stacks easy. Wives like neat. Wrap several bags together in
aluminum foil to keep dark. Place in frig. Check bags each time wife
rages.
Frig should hold 30 or so bags with no problem. Remove when you see some
green and plant or when wife threatens divorce and packs her stuff (which

ever comes first). Don't worry too much if she packs yours. That just
means
she's real mad. Haven't tried this with dirt yet but the paper towel
stuff
and quart bags work pretty good (80% germination last year) without
diviorce.
Too many seeds this year. Pots were cheaper than another frig or wife.>>
