OT-BIO: Carmen Perrotta

Hi all!

I am new to this list and wanted to introduce myself. I live in
Decatur, GA, a suburb just outside of Atlanta. We live on a 1/3 acre
lot with lots of trees in the front and a long narrow yard in the
back. The two plants I love most in the world are irises and shade
loving natives (triliums, jack-in-the-pulpits, foam flowers, etc).

I am the Girl Scout leader (hence the troop6792 signature) of my dd's
8th grade Cadette troop. I also collect equestrian Olympic pins as a
hobby. Been married for 21 years to my school teacher hubby and have
one other child, a boy aged 17 whom we are all praying finishes high
school next year.

I want to learn lots more about irises but don't know where to turn.
I currently have a few TB, some yellow JA, and some white and some
purple LA. Right now I have in bloom three TB - a wonderful frilly
white, a lovely soft purple, and a yellow top with white falls that
was given to me as a Confederate Iris, as it supposedly originiated 1
mile from Appomatox (sp). As you can see, I need to learn so much
about irises.

I am interested in rebloomers, irises in pinks, clear blues, and
learning about spuria, arilbred, and aril irises. Where can I go on
the internet and find pictures? I never knew they existed before
this morning.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and to let you know a little about
myself. This seem like a great group and I'm so glad I found you all.
