Dear Sharon,
Iris are only cut back in the Fall when the foliage dies back & turn
brown. However, to sell the rhizomes, it is simplier to cut the foliage back
to 6 inches & to dunk the rhizome in a 10% bleach solition to prevent
transfer of bores from garden to garden. Granular bleach, COMET, is used on a
rhizome which has rot. The rotten part is scraped off & dry bleach is
sprinkled on the remaining part to prevent further rot.
Hope this helps.

blooming TB's are sending up stalks. And one Siberian has a bud showing
color. Every iris is beautiful. Especially the ones blooming.
