For the last 3 winters I have had TB and median rhizomes that I left in their
pots outside overwinter. I did, however, bury the pots up to the rim in the
garden, and I mulched them with loose mulch (I always use my dried corn
stalks) that doesn't pack down but keeps winter sun off the rhizomes. I have
not lost a single iris this way.
