CULT:Sweeter lemonade

This weather situation coupled with Internet connectivity seems like a  
golden opportunity to turn disaster into progress.  Or at least  understanding.  
 
If I were more scientifically, or at least statistically, minded,  I would 
find some way to gather information over the next couple of weeks  and make 
sweeter lemonade!   Ideas?
