You got that right!
But don't forget, last year was just worse than most years - typical to
get a lot of freeze damage here, because my location results in cold
staying longer. I even have to cover lettuce and spinach to keep it
alive most years.
How the heck do you get a forecast low of 38 for tonight and I get 31?
Not fair! You are hundreds of miles north of me.
However, if it's only 31 here, I'm not worried. Any sissy plants that
can't take 3 or 4 hrs right around freezing before they are even showing
color have no business being here ;-)
<Sounds to me like you're scared and still bummed from last year.>
I'm a bit harsher than that - I walk around with a mattock and rip out
anything that isn't happy. Both spring <and> summer. Sometimes (like
after last spring!) I give them another chance, let them live another year.
But now I'm rethinking the extra early ones - want to try some of those
indoors to let them bloom to see if a 'double dose' of extra early will
give more continuous bloom. Also to see if they can rebloom indoors.
<Then, during July/August, walk around with the list and mark the ones
that look happy.>
I like cautious <g>. But that thing is a bit too cautious. Not much of
a grower here.
<Your PFIC1 is healthy looking, but seems cautious to put out much
growth right away in this chill. Smart iris!>
Thanks Mary Lou - have fun at Convention. Now that I've been to one, I
have a greater appreciation for how hard it is to even <find>
everything, much less take pictures.
