Hello Debbie,
I'm no expert, and most of them are probably having a
great time at the convention right now, so... I'll
take a shot at your question.
My first thought is that I would try to find a sunny
place to plant them in the ground. I know that some
people grow irises in pots, but they've never done
well for me that way. Here in Maryland, they've always
seemed MUCH happier in the ground. And also, as you'll
read at the following AIS link for growing
information, the less competition, the better. I'd
keep groundcover (or my case weeds) cleared away to
reduce competition for resources.
