Re: CA frost

Thanks Linda,
Since it was only 30 I don't think the damage will be too bad. It is very interesting to watch the reaction of individual plants. Some flowers came through just fine while others just melted away. Some even had damage on one stalk in a clump but no damage on a different stalk in the same clump. Most of our rebloomers did OK, some don't look affected at all. Some oncers melted and others did fine. Seems like the ones with thicker substance were not affected, which makes sense to me. This years intros had no damage at all maybe due to location in the fields or soil temp?
This is all new to me.

Mike, I am so sorry! I expect to hear that for mid-continent, but not California! Be prepared for major rot outbreak. :-(

Also, fertility may be affected even on later blooms that look normal.

Be sure to let us know which of yours go on to bloom pretty well in spite of being frozen.

If they didn't stay frozen too long, maybe they'll bounce back ok.
