HYB: Peeking doesn't help

Hey gang.

I'm having a hard time this season with the waiting for bloom to begin.
So far only Wild Ruby has bloomed (one of only three SDB's in my
collection).

I've already peeled one bud open just to see some color, that one was a
seedling 05-150-03 that is apparently just a blue. Oh well, that's what
I expected from a cross involving Scorpio.

One other seedling is showing color, from a cross of Chartreuse Ruffles X
Indigo Princess. With IP as a parent I was expecting blue from this
cross as well, but I made the cross because both CR and IP are related to
flatties.

The seedling is apparently not reading the same rule book as I am- the
color showing in the bud is goldenrod yellow. I peeked inside at the
standard color... brown. The pedigrees say blues and the bud is yellow?
According to the Checklist, Louise Watts, CR's pollen parent, is lavender
with a brown rim. But someone tell me how a pedigree that's three
quarters blue lets any yellow out?

Other nearby pedigrees are Tyson sdlg 93-025-03 (a pale blue BC) X
Scorpio (dark blue SA), Dresden Dancer X Indigo Princess.

I do wish they would just bloom already!
