Monday, on impulse, I bought an orange iris that is supposedly RAVE ON - description certainly fits the flower. Two stalks on a plant in a small (one gallon?) pot. Nothing registered from it.
An orange strong enough to make two stalks in a pot in Tennessee and no descendants registered? So far, haven't found any orange irises that perform well and are fertile here, but haven't tried any in pots that I can bring indoors yet.
Form is what you'd expect from a 1990 intro (and I like it), fairly nice branching, no really horrendous faults for an iris of any color from that era.
Any of you have experience with RAVE ON? Wonder if it's fertile...35o out and dropping at 6 AM here. More frost damage yesterday, varying a lot depending on the cross. Lots of puckered petals. I'm hopeful that I will at least get to see what color some of these 2nd spring seedlings are.
