Does anyone have any suggestions for a systemic insecticide? I will be battling the Verbena Bud Moth and Orthochaeta or "iris bud fly" in a few weeks. Last year I tried some granular product but it didn't seem to have any affect on the iris bud fly which was eating up the inside of the blooms at a record rate. I am mainly growing Louisiana Irises in lined beds and really worry about putting very much into the soil as it will not leach out and will have to break down. It seems that the chemicals available have changed and gotten so complicated that I can't pronounce or remember what the even are. I am thinking that something that I can spray the entire plant with would work better but don't have any idea which will work best. Any suggestions or experiences will help.
