Nell, you're doing good! I found these practices sufficient for years. Only
when I added quite a few beardless irises (which aren't dug up and carefully
inspected as often) and species to my collection, plus got to a number of
cultivars such that individual care suffered, did I begin to have a real
problem. This is the first season I will be using Cygon. And it's largely
because with a lot of other events interfering, the garden did not get the
care I like to give it last season. I believe you can keep away from
chemicals with lots of meticulous care and a little luck. :-)
