Robert, species in the Series Hexagonae are really still in a state of flux.
 Phil Ogilvie gave an outstanding presentation on this subject to the
International Species Iris Symposium at St Louis  last year. After Small, the
taxanomists concentrated almost excusively on species and species hybrids
originating in LA.  Irises native to Florida have for the most part been
ignored.  Look for a revision of the taxanomy of the Hexagonae before too
