Iris Show

Three years of demonstration shows and no AIS sanctioned show yet? ? ? That's a
shame! You're already doing about 85 per cent of the work required to have an
AIS Show. You're also doing the hybridizers in your area a great dis-service?
An AIS Show gives hybridizers the opportunity to have their seedling evaluated
by AIS judges. Five AIS Judges attending the show can encourage hybridizers with
their voting of ECs (Exhibition Certificates). I'll stop at that and ask other
AIS members, hybridizers and judges to jump in on this thread to help me out!

AIS Shows isn't about just winning ribbons! They make members be more
critical of their irises. AIS Shows requires all entering to learn about
grooming of irises and what cultural standards to look for in their irises.
Most irises that receive blue ribbons and higher awards are GENERALLY indicative
of which irises grow well in your area.

I highly urge you to have an AIS sanctioned show next year. If you need
help in doing this, just ask. They're several AIS judges who on this list who
would be willing to advise you.

Having an AIS show just isn't all about members winning ribbons.
