Just want you all to know that I am attending the Williamsburg Garden
Symposium this week and I have two relevant pieces of info--Allen
Armitage said in his presentation that the important thing in trying to
use the Latin is to get the syllables in the right order! (And it is is
his opinion that it is only the British who care about pronunciation,
anyway!). The other is that Josephine Shanks (hope I am getting her
name right) was another presenter--and when I asked her about when my
Louisiana iris should bloom relative to I. pseudocorus I made a real
effort to use Tom's dictum--so I have taken this discussion to heart...
