Gentle LIST (en) ers:
I received Clarence Mahan's price list yesterday -- That's The Iris
Pond in McLean, Va. If you are interested in Historic Iris, you should see
this list. I don't know of anyone else who markets specifically Historics.
Some go back to 1813 !!(That one is Falvescens, DeCandole, 1813. Light yellow, Plate 405 in Redoute's Les Liliacees. Always sells out.. $10.) and on
and on and on. Marvelous! All bearded in this list.
The Price List also includes a number of collections:
1. Historic Iris (10 varieties)
2. Miniature Tall bearded (tabale iris) (10 varieties)
3. Reblooming (11 with the bonus!)
4. Intermediate Iris -- 16" to 27" (10 again)
5. Standard Dwarf collection (8" to 15" tall) (also 10
and the prices are just right!!!
6. Two more collections: 10 Siberians, or / and 10 Japanese
This is a fantastic way to start a collection and start work on that
resolution to label and map the garden so they don't get away from you.
