Hello all,
My name is Jeannie Colunga, and I am a new subscriber, and a new gardener.
I have recently purchased my first home, in Grand Terrace CA, and have
discovered the rewarding, beautiful world of gardening. I have been amazed
at the joy I feel when I see a flower bloom from a seed (or rhizome . . .)
I planted -- or the dissapointment I feel when a plant dies under my care.
I have always been partial to iris, and commandeered a grocery bag full of
rhizomes from my Grandmother's garden last time she divided. I finally
*own* a place where I can treat her flowers as family heirlooms rather than
anonymous decorations in front of a rental. I have a lot to learn about
the science of gardening -- I especially need advice on cultivating
patience -- (I'm ashamed to admit that I actually dug up a begonia tuber
last year to see if it was *ever* going to sprout,-- how embarassing,) so I
look forward to reading all of your posts.
