Re: Andre Viette

Caryolyn,
This is a GREAT nursery. I live in NW Arkansas & every time I need to
drive to DC, I make a SLIGHT detour to Fishersville, Va. It is west of
Charlottesville just a tad, but not TOO out of the way to get back to the
Interstate. If you are at Fairfax Station, I think that is out US 50,
take a detour & go to Merrifield GArdens closer into town on Gallows Rd.
They stock Andree Viette perennials. Once I was there over Spring Break
& rather than going to museums, sightseeing, etc/ I went to the
community bld, near Merrifield & heard Andree give a fabulous lecture on
perennials. He has been on Victory Gdns. several times. Their garden at
the nursery is lovely. Several DC nurseries advertise "Viette
perennials". I have even found them in Tenn. The nursery at
Fishersville is not open during the winter months, as I found out to my
dismay one "spring break"that was a little early
  Sue, Nw Arkansas

PS. They do have a mail order catalog, it takes a LONG time to receive
plants, MUCH better to go there if you are at all close.
