My best advice:  Read the Ensata Gardens instructions carefully and do 
what they tell yu.  I'll bet John Coble would give you more specific
instructions for your site.  They are awfully good growers and people.
If you ever get the chance, visit their garden.  It is Fabulous... that's
an understatement.  Japs are very hardy and easy to grow.  Good luck.
What are your garden conditions? Can you supply water at least for the first
year while they become established? They like acid soil, lots of mulch, too.
