Hello,
On p. 21 of the Ensata Gardens catalog, they offer collections of
10 different Japanese Iris for $39.00 - a real bargain! They will
supply up to 3 different collections of JI - this is great for the
"beginner" or for a special need someone has for landscaping, etc.
I only wish I had done it that way when I first started - I still
may order a collection this year - have someone else decide.....
My favorite the first year was Raspberry Gem (because it had three
bloom stalks) - and Little Snowman (because it had two bloom stalks).
This becomes a big event in Zone 3....I planted the rhizomes in
July and in a year, there was magic in my back garden.
Good luck,
Ellen Gallgher
