Re: companion plantings

Hello all,
After seeing Clarance Mahan's slide presentation in Richmond and ogling the
beautiful peonies -- I am somewhat more in love and honor with the
*$100.00* holes I dig for my wife's peonies. (She has this strange idea
that a peony hole should be 3 feet wide 3 feet deep, have at least a bushel
of my best compost plus 5 bucks worth of bonemeal). I will admit that the
peony 'Red Charm,' siberian 'Blue Burn' and a white TB make a super show
together. They only oblige by blooming together 2 out of 3 years tho.

She has just received a book on peonies that she claims is the best ever.
(Our checkbook will be flat this fall -- books can be as dangerous as
catalogs!) Anyway the title is 'Peonies' by Allan Rogers, published in '95
by Timber Press.

Does anyone have wind of new iris books?
