This weekend, I discovered that my seedlings (in a cold frame) had
been neatly nibbled off at soil level. The only apparent culprits were
some little roly-polys (pill bugs). They left four trays of assorted
annuals and perennials untouched, but devoured all three iris seedlings.
I moved the cell-pack with the irises into the house under the grow
lights, and they seem to be recovering fine. (I don't think they nibbled
deep enough to get to the growth point.)
Is this weird, or what?
