The question Ellen, is whether you want to enter that named but not registered
Iris in a show.  Then, ask if the showstalk needs to be registered to win
an award.  Do you care about such things?  If it's not registered, it can't
win a Dyke's or major award from AIS.  Do you care?
	If you like it, buy it!!
	If you want to support the grower and you can't get it anywhere else
and these are people who should stay in business and you can...
You get the picture.
	Most of the plants sold at Home Depot, WalMart, etc, are probably not
registered with AIS.  They also are probabaly not the latest and best, and
judges might not want them for that reason, also.  Where are you in that 
way of thinking?
