Louise... let me describe what I saw (the ID was from a fellow iris person).
 It was a rather short clump of strappy leaves, forming a nest from which
arose very wiry and gracefully curved scapes which were topped by a small
white flower, laid open like a tiny Japanese Iris.  The scape reminded me of
crocosmia.

Does this help?  Is it tenuis?
