     The gardens you visited were probably his seedling garden at his house
which is in Santa Cruz.  He has many more acres that could very well be
overlooking the Monterey Bay.  So that's probably where the name for his
gardens comes from.  I was amazed at the variety of PCNs he had when I
was down there, and since I live on the San Francisco Bay peninsula, the
smallness of the PCNs and their beauty, makes it likely I'll start planting
them vs the TBs...
