re: rot, points, bloom season, and one in the shade

Carolyn says - <<Linda. I don't think that the point system considers rot to
be a
criteria.>>

Too bad - I have some varieties I would like to nominate right now! And it
isn't all gardening 'technique' - go read the archives.

Bill's recommended cure is starting to sound attractive - ready to chuck the
whole lot into the creek and grow turnips.

A few bud stalks showing here and there, but what a bust compared to last
year. Combination of dry summer and severe winter (for all those rhizomes
sitting on top of the ground) and severe late freeze has not made my TBs
happy.

One nice surprise - a triple nosed rhizome of CARRIBBEAN DREAM growing in
almost full high light shade has 2 bud stalks and looks very happy all
covered up with leaves and bedstraw. An experiment. This is its first year
there.
