Re: iris as food

Carolyn:  Orris root powder has been used for many years in the manufacture
of sachets for m'lady's lingerie. The peeled and dried root of Iris
florentina was used for many years as an aid for teething children. Of course
this was many years ago when I was an apprentice pharmacist (even before
penicillin came on the scene).
