Orris Root

Carolyn mentioned Orris Root in an earlier post and Tom replied:

Iris florentina rhizomes are dried, then ground into a powder, and used at a
potpurri! I thought that would make a nice gift to give one year so I tried it.
Well, I found out that it takes a helliva lot of dried roots to make just a
little bit of power. Last year while in Italy I also found out that it takes a
helliva lot of lira to also buy it. This quickly ended my orris root making and
buying! On to another project. <grin>
