Merrily: Chances are your yellow TB is not SUNDAY SUNSHINE... and chances are
pretty darn good that you'll never ID it with a catalog picture. In fact, for
a yellow iris, I'd say your chances of successfully ID-ing it with a Cooley's
catalog are about even with my chances of being recognized for my worth and
given a huge raise, shorter hours and less work <BG>

With over 40,000 irises registered at one time or another, unless your iris is
extremely unusual, you'll probably never be able to link it up with a name.
Your best bet for doing so, however, would be to cut a bloomstalk and take it
to your local iris show and see if you can find a match.

But, it would probably be most reasonable to label it "orphan", and enjoy it
for what it is... a beautiful iris. And when you buy named varieties (from
your local club sale.... great that this information is being circulated
here), you can keep careful track of those so as not to render another named
iris "orphaned".

Kathyguest... where her iris club fills a wheelbarrow with "orphans" and sells
them at 3/$1.
