Paul asked for descriptions of the parents of some seeds I offered him.
You'll find these in Tempo Two cat's, but I'll send them if you want.
>Why aren't you interested in them anymore??
Last year I had a fun time pollinating, and most crosses were made on
the spur of the moment. I think you mentioned you'd like to grow
something that 'wasn't blue'. My idea of what I wanted to breed for
changed dramatically when I saw Keppel's Plic's and Neglecta's and had a
fit of egomania. I wanted the latest I could obtain from his 'Stable'
and to arm myself with as much genetic knowledge as possible so I can
achieve what I want to. In 40 years I'll be nearly 90 and would like a
few introductions before then.
Bruce Filardi asked why I didn't just grow these seeds anyway, and I
have picked out quite a few crosses, with the sole aim of testing my
ability to predict the colour of the seedlings. I'm sure there will be
some really nice seedlings, some I'll most likely keep, but not ones I
want to incorporate in my breeding program.
I'm very fond of cat's but if I bred from them I'd want to keep every
kitten they produced. I think culling my iris seedlings will probably
prove quite difficult too.
