First, you can over fertilize your irises. The general rule of thumb is six
weeks before bloom, then right after bloom. Why I wouldn't use miracle grow is
because of fungal leaf spot. Guess I've suffered too many experiences with leaf
spot that I won't even consider any type of overhead watering. As I've said tho,
some growers are happy with miracle grow.
