We've grown several varieties of spurias in MI Z 5 and they bloom well if they
don't get borer-no slime, just yellow center bloomstalk. We've had
Morningtide, Belise (near specie), some of the Highlines, (Lavender &
Bluebird), Clark Cosgrove, ..Ben Hager once told me he thinks we need to grow
them next to a white house for more heat. I didn't have a white house. Our
soil was on the acid side possibly around 5.4-.7. Lots of sorrel and we grew
our JIs without acidifying. I don't thik Siberians are real particular. Anna
