Glad its not just me!
I presume there isn't much soil.

I live in the middle of the Capital City (but even then only 300,000
people.... much much smaller than the state capitals (then again our whole
country is heading for 18million people and the US has individual cities
that have that) ) so we're on town water supply.  I'm currently in the
process of installing an irrigation system to cut down on my water usage
(it'll make a BIG difference).  Its also forecast that our current weather
will continue until the end of may at least, and if the winter rains don't
come.... we're in BIG trouble for next summer.
