Sir, I can assure you that the iris turning white is NOT in people's
imagination. I have several iris bed that have been here 18 years now. I
have not been good about re-digging and seperating. I used to have five
different colors but now the vast majority blooming are white and I have only
one other color coming up. I know some plants need various compounds such as
potassium to bloom in certain colors. Perhaps this were hybrids and with
cross pollination by bees/bugs have reverted to white.
I do not know the answer but I do know that my garden of many colors is
now white and I am not dreaming it. My elderly mother who lives up the road
about three miles has this problem also.
